Introduction
Welcome to the home page of the Department of Pathology at Tel Aviv University's Sackler School of Medicine. Research in Pathology is aimed at elucidating the molecular basis of disease and is the connecting link between basic sciences research and clinical research. The fields of interest of the Pathology Department faculty members include understanding normal and abnormal processes of growth and development, elucidating the molecular control of cellular proliferation and differentiation, studying mechanisms of carcinogenesis, imaging of intracellular protein processing, investigating the mechanism of immunity and identifying markers for molecular diagnosis of diseased tissues.
Techniques used by our faculty members include cellular biology methods, cell cultures, real time cellular imaging, molecular biology techniques, quantitative electron microscopy techniques, tissue section processing, immunohistochemistry, protein studies following intracellular signaling pathways, animal models, including transgenic mice studies, and more.
The Department of Pathology is a large multi-disciplinary department. Its main offices are located on the fourth floor of the Sackler School of Medicine where the chairman, administrative staff and research laboratories are located. Additional research laboratories are located in all the University-affiliated hospitals.
Surfing further through our web site links will make you more familiar with the research we conduct as well as with the courses that we offer. We hope that the time you spend with us is enjoyable and worthwhile.
