Introduction

The Division of Anatomy and Anthropology conducts research in the area of human anatomy and human biology. Research in human anatomy is directed towards studies on the morphological and evolutionary aspects of the facial skeleton and the morphology and morphogenesis in the gustatory systems.

Studies in human neuromorphology include comparative neurology of somatosensory systems. The area of interest in paleoanthropology and human evolution includes the population of the Land of Israel from Paleolithic to recent times, biomechanics of the facial skeleton in the evolution of man and affects of the Agricultural evolution on human population biology.

Human biology studies focused on genetic epidemiological aspects of bone aging and osteoporosis; quantitative genetics of biochemical risk factors for heart disease and vascular morbidity and genetic and follow-up projects of early human growth and development.
