החוג לרפואת ילדים
החוג לרפואת ילדים כולל בתוכו את כל מחלקות הילדים האישפוזיות בבתי החולים המסונפים לאוניברסיטת תל אביב: מרכז רפואי אסף הרופא בי"ח לילדים ע"ש דנה בית חולים וולפסון בית חולים מאיר בית חולים אדמונד ולילי ספרא לילדים מרכז שניידר לרפואת ילדים וכן מרכזי בריאות הילד ומחלקת הילדים בבית חולים לניאדו המשתתפים בפעילות הוראתית ואקדמית. החוג אחראי על הוראת סטודנטים לרפואה. במסגרת זו תלמידי בית הספר לרפואה של אוניברסיטת תל אביב לומדים שני קלרקשיפים במחלקות הילדים. קלרקשיפ ראשון בשנה ד' או ה' עם דגש של הקניית הבסיס הקליני והתנסות קלינית ברפואת ילדים. התלמידים לומדים את אבני היסוד ברפואת ילדים החל מהילד הבריא, גדילה התפתחות, תזונה חיסונים ועד הטיפול בילד החולה ואף בילדים המורכבים ביותר. בשנה ו' הסטודנטים מקבלים קלרקשיפ –סאב של ארבעה שבועות מתוכם שלושה שבועות בבית החולים ושבוע בקהילה,, במרכזי הבריאות לילד המסונפים למחלקות הילדים. בקלרקשיפ זה הסטודנטים מתנסים בעבודה הקלינית היומיומית ברפואת ילדים תוך הדרכה צמודה של הצוות הרפואי. ההשקעה של מנהלי המחלקות ושל הצוותים בכל המחלקות בסטודנטים היא לאורך כל השנה האקדמית והם מקדישים מניסיונם, ממרצם ומזמנם ואכן התוצאות מתבטאות גם ברמת ההישגים של הסטודנטים וגם בציוניהם הגבוהים בבחינות הארציות. החוג מפקח על ההוראה על ידי ועדות מלוות. כל ועדה מבקרת אישית את הקבוצה הלומדת במחלקה, מעבירה למנהל המחלקה והטיוטור את הרשמים שלה מהסטודנטים ומוציאה דוח שישמש את צוות ההוראה במחלקה לשיפור ההוראה. החוג לרפואת ילדים פועל לפעילות אקדמית ומחקרית. במסגרת זו החוג מקיים 4 פגישות מדעיות בשנה בו מציגים מקרים קלינים מלמדים והרצאות עדכון מדעיות. החוג שם לו למטרה לעודד פעילות אקדמית ומחקרים ובעיקר של הסגל הצעיר של החוג. החוג יוזם ודואג למחקרים רב מרכזיים. כמו כן החוג שם לו למטרה לעודד קשרים בין רופאים לבין חוקרים באוניברסיטה לבין עמיתים בחו"ל. כל זה לעידוד מחקר שמשלב קליניקה עם מדע בסיסי. בנוסף, החוג מחלק פרסים לעבודות מחקר ועבודות מדעי יסוד מצטיינות. בחוג ישנם 217 חברי סגל בעלי מינויים: פרופ' מן המניין 8 פרופ' מן המניין קליני 3 פרופ' חבר 16 פרופ' חבר קליני 30 מרצה בכיר 10 מרצה בכיר קליני 22 מרצה 24 מדריך 90 חבר הוראה בדרגת מרצה קליני 2 חבר הוראה בדרגת מרצה 11
The Department of Pediatrics includes all Pediatric Departments in hospitals affiliated with Tel Aviv University:

As well as Child Community Health Centers and Laniado Hospital's Pediatric Department taking part in academic and teaching activities.
The Department of Pediatrics is responsible for teaching medical students. Students of Tel Aviv University's School of Medicine undertake two Pediatric Clerkships in the various Pediatric Hospitals Departments.
The first Clerkship is on the 4th or the 5th year of studies. This Clerkship emphasizes clinical basis and clinical experience in Pediatrics. Students learn the basic building blocks in Pediatrics beginning with the healthy child, growth and development, nutrition, immunization and child care up to sick children and the most complicated syndromes.
Sixth year students go through a Sub internship of four weeks, three weeks of which are in the Hospital Pediatric Departments and one week is in the Child Community Health Centers affiliated with the Hospitals' Pediatric Departments. Here, the students experience the daily clinical work in pediatric training with the supervision of experienced medical staff.
The Departments' managers and teams investment throughout the academic year, their devotion, experience, invested energy and their time is reflected in the results of the student's achievements and high scores in national examinations. The Department oversees instruction by committees. Each committee visits the students in their Hospital Departments and delivers a report
that will be used to improve the teaching and the instruction in the Hospital Department.
The Department is running academic activities and research. In this framework, the Department conducts four meetings per year in which scientific clinical cases are presented and lectures and scientific updates are delivered. The Department set a goal to encourage academic research activities and especially among young staff of the Department. The Department initiates a multi-center research and sets a goal of encouraging connections between physicians and researchers at the University with colleagues abroad. In order to encourage research amongst doctors and teachers, the Department delivers Awards for an outstanding basic sciences work and for an outstanding research work.
