Teaching
This 4-week clerkship is given during the fourth academic year (American program) and fifth academic year (Israeli program).
The clerkship is conducted in 6 Academic Hospitals affiliated to TAU. (Assaf Harofe Medical Center, Rabin Medical Center, Beilinson Campus, Tel Aviv Medical Center, Sapir Medical Center, Edith Wolfsohn Medical Center, Sheba Medical Center).
The clinical program teaches students to perform a systematic head and neck examination, to understand the anatomo-pathological correlation of their findings and to determine the basis of modern therapeutics.
During their stay they familiarize with the techniques of history taking and physical examination on the otolaryngology service.
They learn to deal with common E.N.T problems encountered in the daily practice of the general practitioner. The students participate in the routine department activities, outpatient clinics, and the emergency room. They receive instruction in audiograms and other hearing tests. The study requirements have been compiled in a Syllabus, which covers the most important issues in today clinical practice in otolaryngology.
In addition to bedside teaching and frontal lessons, the Israeli students receive 2-day course in the Faculty, which covers basic clinical otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the beginning of the clerkship.

Residents participate in a three-year program of four hours per week.

Otolaryngology for foreign visitants:
During the last years several students from abroad have visited the Otolaryngology Departments of the Hospitals affiliated to the Faculty according with their specialization:. Usually they contact the Visitant Department of The University (TAU ) which advise them how to proceed .
We advise them to spend at least 3 months in order to get benefit from their stay.
