Introduction
The routine X-ray systems (still images or fluoroscopy) - are changing into Computerized Radiology (C.R.) or Digital Radiology (D.R.). These changes include cath.lab. angiography - digital memography with high resolution of 50 microns.
These changes cause another change in the picture archiving and the communication system of information.
Digital images are evaluated on electronic screens and transported on digital communication systems. Today we see various new systems and technologies that facilitate the Imaging of function fussed with morphology.
A third dimension is now included in many modalities in U.S., in P.E.T C.T., and in M.R., which enables navigation within the 3D information for a better dialogue.
Biochemistry also became a partner in the diagnostic imaging procedures where M.R., Spectroscopy, and Molecular Imaging become a known knowledge for radiologists.
Minimal invasive therapeutic procedures guided by imaging systems are integrated into the routine life in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging.
Thermal ablation of tumors with either cryotherapy, R.F. therapy, focused U.S. therapy or chemical injection of materials, are taking place more and more in our daily work.
